In Humanae Vitae, St. Pope Paul VI reaffirmed the Church’s teaching that the unitive and procreative aspects of marriage must never be separated. The use of artificial reproductive technologies like IVF removes the natural marital act from the creation of life, which is why the Church urges couples to seek ethical alternatives that align with God’s design.
St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body further emphasizes that the human body and its reproductive design are sacred gifts from God. When we work with the body’s natural rhythms—rather than against them—we honor the beauty and dignity of God’s creation.
